Our latest response to covid19
We have been working hard since the start of the pandemic and the safety and wellbeing of our residents, staff and visitors are always our highest priority at Brookside.
For visits to view a room available at Brookside, you will be able to arrange a viewing, but there are certain restrictions in place to ensure the ongoing safety of our current residents and members of staff. Please call 01858 465899 and we can arrange this.
Visits either on the Brookside premises or out of the premises are “important for the wellbeing of residents and their loved ones” .In order to deliver safe visiting at Brookside, we will involve the resident and their family / friends in all visiting arrangements.
The government eased restrictions for care homes on Monday 17th May 2021, as follows:
The Government announced – Care home residents will be able to have more named visitors and more opportunities to make day visits out of Brookside, with no need to self-isolate when they return.
We are pleased to announce our residents at Brookside are now able to have 5 named visitors per week (with a maximum of 2 visitors being allowed at any one time or on any given day). These daily limits do not apply for very young children (below 2 years of age) or essential care givers.
Our residents will no longer be required to self-isolate when they return to Brookside following daytime medical appointment visits out of the home.
Visitors coming into Brookside to visit our residents, will need to have an LFD test on the day of their visit. This can either be carried out at Brookside prior to the visit commencing – or visitors can LFD test themselves at home immediately before the visit, or on the morning of the visit. When visitors contact Brookside to arrange a visit, they must discuss with a senior member of staff at Brookside, whether they will be LFD testing at home or testing at Brookside, in order for the correct amount of time to be allocated for the visit. Those visitors testing at home must please bring with them proof of their negative test result (we will only accept proof of a negative result via a text message/email showing registration with the government app).
In addition, we will be using non-invasive thermometers in reception to monitor the temperature of all staff reporting for duty and essential visitors coming into the home. Anyone whose temperature is outside of normal limits will not be allowed to enter the building.
We very much look forward to further easing of the restrictions very soon. In the meantime, please feel free to contact us if you have any questions and don’t forget to give us a call to arrange your visit.
If you have any other questions regarding Brookside Care Home please contact us on 01858 465899.
We will post general updates on our Facebook page so you can see the latest happenings and goings on at Brookside.
Kind regards from Hayley and the team at Brookside.
A notice from Registered Provider : Mrs Helen Whittington (Nee Clarke)
”Making the decision to move into a care home – and choosing the right one – is never easy and we want everyone to feel safe and secure at our family-run care home.
Our visiting guidance at Brookside will continue to change and we understand this has been one of the toughest, most sensitive issue for both residents and relatives, created by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, now we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, if we all work together – we can look forward to a brighter future.
And remember… We are only a phone call away.”
